The TAW method increases resistance to earth pressure because TAW has arch member which is opposite shaped with the moment-shaped curve produced by the earth pressure.
You use TAW(Tied Arch Wale) and you don’t need additional processes on site including pre-loading or pre-stressing, installation and dismantling of additional members or separate accessory components, etc
The field measurement result of inspecting all instruments showed that all instruments were within ‘Safe (Good)’ levels which are the management standard values. At the deep excavation of a downtown site, it could confirm the structural safety of the TAW method.
